Rachel & Chris | Sole Repair Shop Wedding in Seattle October 14th, 2018

Rachel and I met when we both worked at a skincare company in Seattle. I had just put in my two weeks notice to pursue my photography career full time, and she had just been hired. I remembered her mentioning that her boyfriend lived out of state, and she was waiting just a short while longer for him to move up to Washington to be with her. When Chris proposed earlier this year I was secretly hoping they would ask me to be their wedding photographer, and was so excited when they reached out about it! After a super fun engagement shoot on the Pier 66 rooftop downtown, I was anticipating their big day even more.

Come wedding day you could feel the excitement from both of them as they got ready in separate hotel rooms downtown. The day flew by with help from a flurry of fun activities and a delicious brunch, and getting to take photos at Chophouse Row in Seattle was definitely a fun experience for me as I normally don’t get to shoot a lot in non-grassy/woodsy environments. After an amazing bubble exit we ended things with photos over at the Volunteer Park Conservatory which was absolutely beautiful, especially with the couple being so easy to coach! Seriously, I barely had to tell them what to do, and they just looked so great the entire time. Overall it was a fantastic day and I’m so happy and grateful that Chris and Rachel allowed us to capture their wedding.

Derek & Elise | MARRIED!

When Derek first got in touch with me about photographing him & Elise’s summer backyard wedding, he came across so laid back but super excited for me to be their photographer. After shooting their engagement session and getting to meet them in person for the first time a month before their wedding, I knew I was going to have a blast when the big day arrived. They were so effortlessly in love, and we had such a fun time getting some amazing engagement photos.

When I arrived for the wedding, Elise and her many bridesmaids (and group of long-time best friends) were getting ready on a family friend’s home on beautiful Whidbey Island, and feeling the excitement and wedding day nerves from the entire wedding party was so contagious. Elise’s dress was so beautiful and suited her perfectly, and you could see how much her bridesmaids adored her. As the day went on, I could just tell that Elise and Derek were the type of couple that just radiate love and appreciation for one another. When she started crying as her father comforted her down the aisle, and saw Derek’s reaction to seeing her in her dress for the first time, I had to try so hard to hold it together! This is why I love first looks being during the ceremony 😉

After a lovely ceremony, there was plenty of dancing and heartfelt (and very tearful) toasts from friends and family alike. It was clear these two had a personal connection with every one of their guests, and keeping it more intimate made everything so special. I had such an amazing time celebrating with them!
